Der Spiegel reports that Swedes trust IKEA more than they do the Church. This makes Ingvar Kamprad bigger than Jesus. (He actually may be trying to be as spendthrift as Christ, even with his immense wealth.)
Getting beyond the comparisons with things holy, 80% of the country believes in IKEA, and it has already expanded into 33 countries. Love or hate what IKEA has done to our homes, it certainly has kept true to the design movement's promise of more efficiently made (and thus less expensive) home furnishings.
