Swedish Dark Romantic
Macabre is a relatively new fashion brand from Sweden that launched last year and recently unveiled its first official collection for AW07. The designer behind the brand is Richard Söderberg, who recently graduated from design school having specialized in advanced patternmaking and construction.
With a focus on details, shapes and materials rather than on color, Macabre’s latest collection has a dark romantic theme and is predominantly black with limited touches of white. Long lengths of draped fabric have been used to create narrow silhouettes that gain significant volume when in motion. A number of pieces in the collection are transformable and can be worn in a number of different positions and styles. Although Macabre make menswear and womenswear, many items in their collection are interchangeable.
Given their monochromatic mixture of Edwardian and Gothic, Macabre have become another lifeiscarbon® favorite.
