Stylish Stockholm Streets
Since we’ve previously written about Oslostil and Hel-Looks, we thought it only fair that we mention of our friends at Stockholm Streetstyle. lifeiscarbon® are big fans of all of the Scandinavian street fashion websites and love keeping an eye on the various styles being worn around the region. We’ve also grown to appreciate the differences between the various websites. We’re not simply talking about the big differences between the fashion trends seen in each of the Scandinavian cities, but also about the unique character of each of the websites.
Whilst Helsinki is fast becoming the new Harajuku and people in Copenhagen know how to look sexy and stylish on a bicycle, we have to admit the Stockholmites do seem to have a damn good sense of style. Take a look at a selection of images below and then check out the Stockholm Streetstyle website.
We’ve said it before but it deserves saying again, in our opinion Hel-Looks has some of the best photography of any street style sites around the world. We love the raw energy of Reykjavik Looks and their quest to document the wild parties held in Iceland. We enjoy Oslostil’s somewhat unique two city approach and the way that they feature not only Norwegians in Oslo but also Scandinavians in London. Relative newcomers, Copenhagen Street Fashion are still perfecting their approach (including deciding what to call themselves…their name seems to change by the day) but we love the fact that someone is finally covering the various styles seen on the streets of Copenhagen.
Out of all of them, Stockholm Streetstyle is probably the most consistent in terms of what they cover and how they write about it. They stick to a standard format in terms of photography, one that lets clothing and accessories be seen clearly, and always provide details of where items were purchased. In addition to taking portraits of individuals, they’ve also invented some rather good features that appear on a regular basis. Features such as their daily mixes (Monday Mix, Saturday Mix etc) in which they feature a commonly seen trend, Bag It (or Belts, Boots etc) which turns the spotlight on an item of clothing or an accessory that many people seem to be wearing and their occasional focus on which ever color seems to be the color of the moment.
