100% Norwegian In London

Double Room Plate by Tanja Sæter.
Today saw the launch of 100 % Design at Earl’s Court in London and for the next three days there’s also the chance to catch some of the special exhibitions within the show, including 100% Norway.
This year’s show features new works from some of Norway’s more established designers alongside new names who have never before shown outside Scandinavia. The focus this year is on glass, porcelain and textiles, all designed with sustainability in mind. Each designer has taken the theme of sustainability and interpreted it in a new way. One example of which is Cathrine Maske’s Blue Wing Butterfly vase that has been designed to draw attention to a national species that is close to extinction. Take a look below at a selection of designs from the show:
Maske has been joined at the show by other talented designers including Tanja Sæter, Anne Haavind, Kathinka Dysthe, Lena Hansson. Kari Håkonsen, Lars Kværne and Vidar Koksvik. You’ll also find new tableware by Porsgrund, porcelain from newcomers Wik & Walsoe, stylish wall-coverings from Scandinavian Surface, knitted homewares from Johan Rye-Holmboe, and a superb new range of textiles from the highly talented Sari Syväluoma who we’ll be profiling on lifeiscarbon® in the near future.
Some of our favorites such as Permafrost, Norway Says and 2Form Design will also be showing recent work at the exhbition together with our friends Frost Produkt.
