Mori & Mimosa, another new lifeiscarbon® favorite, is run by the Swedish design duo of fashion designer Christina Wemming and jewelry artist Sara Engberg. If their names sound familiar it might be that you remember them from an earlier article of ours on Tradera, the Swedish online auction site. Christina and Sara were amongst the designers invited to create a range of unique wedding dresses for a special charity auction, the profits from which were donated to the Better Cotton Initiative, a WWF project aimed at reducing the negative impact on people and the environment caused by conventional cotton cultivation.
In addition to loving design duo’s latest monochromatic collection, called Morticia, we also love their basic business concept which is simply to do what they love, without worrying about trends. Christina and Sara claim to put their souls into every step of the design process, from choosing materials to perfecting finishing touches. That they do is evident from the resulting Mori & Mimosa collections in which all pieces of clothing or jewelry are produced by hand in limited and numbered editions. Look below for images from their lastest collection:
As well as managing to make their jewelry and clothing compliment each other perfectly, Christina and Sara have also found time to work in collaboration with a number of others including the talented pattern designer Malin Björklund and the well respected photographers The Grain. Take a look below at a small selection of images from The Lake, created in conjunction with The Grain.
