Trotters is the first furniture collection produced by Swedish brand Pieces. Designed by Gabriella Gustafson & Mattias Ståhlbom from the Stockholm design sudio TAF, the family of low tables and open storage cabinets are intended to act rather like characters from a cartoon, or small family friends. By playing with proportions, attention has been refocused on the oft forgotten and usually quietly understated feet.
Despite merely playing with the geometry of basic pieces (the initial collection includes coffee tables, cabinets and shelves), the results are both witty and surprising. The oversized sculptural feet are available in a variety of materials including wood, marble and white glazed porcelain. Pearl white or bright orange silicon pads hold the furniture elements in place. We love the simple designs that manage to successfully combine high quality materials and traditional Swedish craftsmanship.
