Aboutintro

We’re often asked who we are, what we do and why we do it. Here’s an attempt at answering those questions.

lifeiscarbon® is edited by a small group of friends who come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Some are artists, some are designers, some are writers, some are photographers and some would like to be one of these but actually work in far less interesting fields in order to pay their mortgages. What they have in common is that they are all dreamers. lifeiscarbon® was created as a way do some of the things they’d always dreamed of doing but until now have never found time to do.

We are also happy to admit that most of us have spent too long in our respective careers not creating or producing anything and far too long taking from society and the environment without ever giving anything back. Through lifeiscarbon®, we are determined to rectify that situation and we’ve taken the decision to avoid doing anything negative from this point onwards. In other words, we won’t do anything that has negative consequences for the environment, for individuals or for society in general.

We hope that our various projects actually create something positive for people, society or the environment and that eventually there will be a reward attached. Currently, this website is a labor of love and not done for any financial gain. We receive no income from it what so ever and lifeiscarbon® is a completely neutral and non-profit organization. We do happen to sometimes write about products and brands, but only those that we judge to be worth a mention and are produced by companies that we like.

lifeiscarbon® has no advertising and will never accept any. We are however interested in discussing innovative and creative collaborations with companies that we believe in and that are genuinely interested in doing something beneficial for society and the environment.

Perhaps we are being naive but by sticking to these principals we believe that we will force ourselves to create something genuinely interesting, useful and desirable that will generate funding in the future. We cling to the belief that being ‘right’ will be rewarded in the long run.
